Planet Volt is a solar energy startup that needed a mobile app to support both company owners and their sales reps. The idea was to create a simple but structured way to manage sales reps, gather client information, and keep track of submissions, all from one place.

Since they were starting from scratch, the focus was on getting the foundation right: making sure the app was easy to use, worked well for both user types, and could grow with the business. It was a chance to think through the workflow, keep things intuitive, and design something that would support their day-to-day operations.

When I first joined the project, I was handed a basic wireframe that mapped out the main flow and core features of the app. It was a solid starting point, but I knew my job was to bring it to life in a way that truly worked for its users.

The app was designed for two key user groups — the sales representatives who would be on the move, collecting client data, and the company owners (admins) who needed a clear overview of daily activities and performance.

Understanding how each group interacted with the system became my foundation.

I began by walking through every screen, asking myself: What’s the quickest way for a sales rep to record client details? How easily can an admin track and manage those submissions? That mindset helped me refine the layout and simplify the flow, reducing friction and making every task feel effortless.
