The Challenge

StoryVid approached us with a clear problem: despite producing exceptional work for clients like NASA, University of Kentucky, and Big Ass Fans, they were struggling to stand out in a crowded market where every video production company looked and sounded the same.
Though they essentially needed top of the funnels ads for awareness, They needed the ads to have a premium feel to attract serious B2B decision-makers.
They needed ads that would:
Dominate their local market (Lexington, KY)
Speak directly to marketing professionals and leadership teams
Clearly communicate their differentiation: strategy-first, systems-driven production
Look premium enough to match the quality of their client roster
Drive the "I keep seeing them" effect without hard-selling

Research & Positioning

Before designing anything, I needed to understand the competitive landscape and what actually resonates with B2B buyers evaluating video production partners.
I analyzed direct competitors (Lemonlight, Vidico, local agencies) and studied successful B2B ad formats from adjacent industries and other structure awareness campaigns that build credibility without hard-selling.

Concept Development

Using StoryVid's feedback and the competitive research, I developed 10+ concepts targeting specific pain points and competitive advantages.
The concepts fell into five buckets:
Problem-Agitation → Surface frustrations buyers already feel Insight/Realization → Reframe how they think about video production Social Proof → Leverage that NASA/UK client roster Before/After Contrast → Show the systems advantage visually Bold Statements → Pattern interrupts with contrarian takes
Every concept had to be clear, differentiated, and confident. No apologies. No over-explaining. No vague "we're a creative agency" language.

Design & Execution

Once the direction was locked, I turned concepts into high-impact visuals optimized for Meta and LinkedIn.
My approach:
Premium through restraint — Clean layouts, tons of white space, bold typography. Luxury is subtraction.
Mobile-first — High contrast, large text, single focal points. Has to work at thumbnail size.
Visual storytelling — Interface mockups, timelines, asset grids that make abstract concepts tangible.
Platform-specific — LinkedIn gets professional pain points. Meta gets broader emotional hooks.
I also wrote all the headlines and subheadlines (keeping them sharp and specific, never vague), built out design specs, and explained the strategic rationale behind each concept so the team understood the why, not just the what.
