Giving Merchants More Control on the Go

The Problem: Business Tools Are Too Complicated

Running an online store isn’t easy. Merchants need to manage products, track orders, and respond to customers—most platforms make this harder than it should be.

We already had a full web platform, but merchants wanted something quicker and easier to use on their phones. So we designed Nile Mobile to give them more control on the go.

What We Found Out from Merchants

Before designing, we asked: what do merchants really need on mobile? Here’s what we learned:

-They want to quickly manage products

-Track orders and customers easily

-The design should be simple, not crowded

-They don’t want to go to the web to do basic things

-This helped us decide what to build first.

The Solution: Keep It Focused

We removed the extra stuff and focused on what merchants use most. The app has 4 main tabs:

✅ Home – See store performance at a glance ✅ Products – Add, edit, and manage stock

✅ Invoice – Send invoice and receive payment with ease. ✅ Orders – Track and manage deliveries ✅ Customers – View and manage buyer info​​​​​​​

The Design: Clean and Easy

We kept the design simple on purpose:

🎨 Clean layout – Just the things that matter 📱 Big, readable text – No need to squint 🟩 Brand colors – Looks and feels familiar 📊 Simple dashboards – Quick info, no stress

Challenges We Faced

1️⃣ Too many ideas at once – We picked just the core features for version 1 2️⃣ Navigation – We used a bottom tab bar so everything is just one tap away 3️⃣ Web redirects – We avoided them by keeping mobile features fully in-app
