Project Description BBQ Guru is a smart IoT cooking ecosystem pairing physical temperature controllers with mobile applications. To resolve connectivity failures before peak smoking season, I conducted an end-to-end UX audit of the DynaQ and UltraQ hardware units and architected a four-tier sitemap. The system mapped firmware states, defensive error handling, and BLE and Wi-Fi provisioning paths, giving engineering an absolute blueprint to build stable native applications.

Overview A smart cooking hardware brand suffered high consumer frustration and frequent connectivity dropouts caused by unstable cross-platform mobile software.

Objective Stress-test hardware controller interactions and build exhaustive sitemaps to guide engineering through a rapid native iOS and Android rewrite.

Action Audited device pairing states, mapped conditional Bluetooth and Wi-Fi fallback logic, decoupled hardware parameters from settings, and produced four distinct modular system trees.

Results Engineering executed the native rewrite without logic gaps, successfully driving post-launch app crash rates down to near zero for peak season.
