MoneyU – Financial Literacy for Athletes Overview MoneyU is a financial literacy app designed to empower student-athletes in the NIL era with real-world money skills. Built in FlutterFlow + Firebase, the app combines gamified learning, social features, and financial literacy content to help athletes understand money, debt, savings, credit, investing, and more.
Benefits for Universities & Athletes
75% of athletes post-NIL want to learn about investments and taxes; 44% are worried about student debt ($1.7T nationwide).
Studies show one personal finance class adds ~$100K in lifetime value per student.
Seamless integration with university programs or banking partners.
Enhances university reputation through commitment to athlete life skills.
Small investment → big reward (athlete empowerment, program branding, retention).
Learning Experience
8 core topics: Money, Debt, Savings, Credit, Bitcoin, Stablecoins, Investing, NIL.
Each topic has 25 interactive cards with quizzes at the mid-point and completion.
Daily “Did You Know” facts for quick engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
Onboarding quiz establishes a FinLit Score and personal progress path.
Engagement Features
Friends & Leaderboards: Connect with teammates, track progress, celebrate milestones.
Achievements & Streaks: Similar to Duolingo—earn rewards and stay motivated.
MoneyMate: A gamified “celebrity match” system with 100 men and 100 women, grouped in 5 tiers from Broke to Crazy Wealthy. Athletes level up as they progress.
Markets Feed: Real-time stock and crypto data (via TradingView, CoinMarketCap, or Coingecko APIs).
Why It Stands Out ✔️ Athlete-focused, university-friendly design. ✔️ Gamification keeps users motivated. ✔️ Simple integration and customizable white-label setup. ✔️ Elevates both financial education and program reputation.
