This was spec work I undertook due to having connections working at the company and them wanting inspiration for their new content.

The Aim

Create product description for species identification guides. Write informative and compelling product description copy implementing keywords for SEO best practices. Research the topic and species further to provide better tailored copy.

The Result

Compelling product description copy specifically for the 'British Bees Identification Guide'.

The Example

"Did you know there are over 250 species of bees in Britain and Ireland? That 90% of British species are solitary, with each nest the work of a single female?
The FSC Bees guide features 28 species of bees found in gardens in Britain and Ireland. As well as the ‘Big Six’ bumblebees, the guide includes mining bees, cavity-nesting bees, and cuckoo bees. Created in partnership with Buglife, this guide is perfect for the entomophile, whether expert or budding, as a hobby or as a profession this guide has something for all.
Beautifully Illustrated
Detailed acrylic colour paintings by wildlife artist and illustrator Chris Shields highlight key identification features of every bee with silhouettes next to each image showing typical life size for each species. Printed on laminated card, the FSC Bee Guide is the perfect travelling companion being smaller than A4 paper, easy to fit in a bag or rucksack.
Back-to-Back Bees
This double-sided guide contains images and names of all bees on the front whilst on the reverse you can find concise identification notes for each species. These notes include key characteristics, which months in the year they can be found in flight, habitat, social behaviour, and distribution in the UK.
A Better Life For Bees
For those wanting to help with the conservation of bees, the FSC Bee Guide contains information on the importance of bees and the current status of bees in Britain. You can aid the conservation effort through making a bee garden as detailed within the guide, with tips such as plating a range of flowers in your garden, making a compost heap, and creating log piles to serve as useful nesting and hibernation sites for bumblebees."
