Project Details

On October 25, 2022, The Mama Glow Foundation team used insights from their doula community to address Birth Worker Burnout and structural barriers impacting their conditions. They presented these findings and recommendations at the March of Dimes M-BAN (Mother and Baby Action Network) Conference in Atlanta.

Creative Process

Mood Board

The brief specified that the presentation should adhere to The Mama Glow Foundation's branding, characterized by bold colors and geometric shapes. While this provided a strong starting point, we enhanced this by scaling up the shapes to create impactful negative space, using them as framing devices to guide attention and highlight key information.

Design Execution

Content Design

The client provided a 12-page Word document outlining the presentation and requesting specific infographics. We worked together to streamline the copy, divide the content into multiple slides, and determine the most effective ways to visualize the information.

Imagery

The client relies on stock photography which can lead to a lack of visual cohesion. Our solution was to treat images in Photoshop until they aligned with foundation branding.

Infographics

The first third of the presentation covered many definitions. To ensure visual appeal and clarity, we transformed large blocks of text into multiple infographics.

Final Slides

The result was a polished presentation that clearly highlighted The Mama Glow Foundation’s findings and recommendations. It captured the campaign’s essence, engaged the audience, and delivered the Foundation’s key insights on improving birth worker conditions effectively.

Results + Measurements

The presentation's success led The Mama Glow Foundation to publish a comprehensive 18-page brief detailing their findings and recommendations, which was made available for download on their website. The brief attracted over 580 downloads, reflecting the content's significant impact.
