You Will Be OK, Won’t You? is an independent film bringing together contemporary dance, musical composition and cinematography.

It explores what happens after a rupture — when the familiar order of life breaks down, and we have to find our way into a new reality.

The starting point was the idea of 'loss' as a disruption: a breakdown, a glitch, and the uncertainty that follows when what once felt familiar no longer does.

Rather than following a conventional narrative, the film uses movement, atmosphere and composition to explore the emotional experience of disruption.

The title reflects this tension. You Will Be OK, Won’t You? can be read both as reassurance and as a question — an attempt to believe that a new reality can eventually become familiar.

I contributed to the project as a photographer, capturing and interpreting its atmosphere through still imagery.

Working alongside the film and creative team, I looked for moments of gesture, tension, stillness and connection that could translate the language of the film into photography.

The aim was to create photographs that belonged to the same creative direction while remaining independent images in their own right.

The photographic work focused on:

movement and gesture

the relationship between performers and their surroundings

cinematic composition and framing

light, texture and atmosphere

moments of tension and stillness

The process was closely connected to the choreography and cinematography, allowing the different disciplines to inform one another.

The film was developed collaboratively across directing, choreography, cinematography, music, costume and photography.

The project resulted in a finished independent film and a photographic interpretation developed alongside it.

The work brings together film, movement, sound and still photography to explore rupture, uncertainty and the possibility of finding a new sense of normality.
