Sonoma's Closet gives clean clothes, free, to people and families starting over in Sonoma County. My studio built its public site and its back office while the garage project became a nonprofit corporation, and the studio still hosts and maintains both.
The site leads with getting clothes, and that page is in English and in Spanish. Its pop-up schedule reads only the confirmed upcoming events from the back office: the name, date, hours, place and address, never the host's contact. The badge on the home page and the footer on every public page show where the closet stands, and both changed the day the state's Welcome Letter came.
Behind a login, the back office holds the inbox, the pop-up events, the closet's documents and its formation checklist. Requests for clothes or a pickup, offers of time and requests to host a pop-up all reach that inbox through the same form, which writes only after a hidden honeypot field and a rate limit let a request through.
Built on Next.js and Supabase. The full record, including a miss in my own write-up, is at frederickdesign.studio/work/sonomas-closet.
Before: the first screen on October 20, 2026, ahead of that day's rework. Its first button asked for donations.
After: the same screen today. Its first button is Get clothes, for the people the closet serves.
Ropa gratis: the Get clothes page in Spanish, its pop-up list filled from the back office.
The back office home as designed on October 26; the live one was built to it. Every name, step and date shown is made up.
