Bowie Ballhaus – Editorial Illustration

This is spec project for the Magnifier magazine article about the legendary Hansa recording studios in Berlin. This was where artists like David Bowie and Nick Cave recorded some of their albums while they were living in Berlin in the 70s and 80s. For the illustration I portrayed the iconic avant-garde punk Berlin singer Nina Hagen and introduced references to the emerging electronic scene as well as to the cinema from the time, while playing with scale and layout.
