📝 The Brief

Meet WhiskerWag, a pet nutrition company with high-quality, all-natural ingredients, strong commitment to sustainability, and a focus on pet health and well-being.
Target Audience: Their target audience are pet owners aged 25-45, middle to upper-middle-class, who view their pets as family members and are willing to invest in their health and happiness.
Brand Personality: Caring, Warm, Playful, Sustainable, Friendly
They’re a new company so they wanted to launch Cat and Dog Food so they need:

✍🏼 The Approach

For disclaimer, this is a passion project. I use ChatGPT to help generate design briefs for me. Although this was a passion project, I approached it with the same professionalism as I would for a client. I conducted research into the pet food industry to understand what pet owners seek when choosing treats for their pets as well as the current trend in pet food design.

In my design process, instead of directly searching for some ideas and inspiration on Pinterest, I usually do the word mapping first to gain some insights. I feel that in order to truly understand the brand, I have to list words that resonate with the brand.
The logo draws inspiration from the playful and joyful movement of a wagging tail, commonly seen in both cats and dogs. The flowing lines or curves that mimic the natural motion of a wagging tail. This element symbolizes happiness, friendliness, and a warm, welcoming spirit. By capturing the essence of these beloved pets' expressive gestures, the logo aims to evoke feelings of caring too.
The pet food packaging design emphasizes an eco-friendly vibe by incorporating natural elements such as a leaf and a bush into the overall aesthetic. The use of leaves and bush imagery highlights the brand’s commitment to nature and sustainability. To further reinforce this eco-friendly message, the pet food is packaged in a sturdy cardboard box, minimizing environmental impact and appealing to environmentally conscious consumers.

✨The Results

In the end, I created a series of designs that were visually appealing and aligns with the brand tone of voice to make WhiskerWag stand out in a competitive market. The project was successful, showcasing my capability to tackle a passion project with the same professionalism and dedication as I would for a real client.
