A client wanted me to bring his place of happiness to the world wide web! My task was to create a website for a local barber shop which catches the corporate identity not only aesthetically but also storywise because the barber identifies his place as a magically place where he and his staff bring out the inner beauties out of female customers and unleash the attractive beasts within male customers.

As a first task, I had to get to know the place where the magic happens. So I visited the barber shop and got an impression on how the place feels and looks likes, how the people who work there are, how the barbers customers are - but also what the story behind is barber shop is. This is ultimately important for creating the website because in my opinion the client has always to 100%ly identify not only with the look but also with the editorial content that I am also creating.

After the initial meeting it went straight to the concept creation.

The client wanted a modern look for his website which matches his corporate identity. For the concept it was necessary to see who the customers and competitors are. So I went straight to the analysis section and did a target analysis (creating personas etc.) and competitive analysis (how do competitors present themselves online? What can I do to get an USP? etc.).

After that I started working on the first concept which matches the corporate identity and elevates the barber shops appearance to the next level.

Content

Design

The clients shop has an bright, clean and classy impression. I wanted to get this impression to the world wide web. I oriented myself on the colors of the shop and its logo to create a moodboard. The website had to be modern with not only a simplistic look but also a simplistic UX-Design with responsive elements and modern elements such as parallax scrolling etc. to create immersiveness. With the power of WordPress as the Content Management System, Photoshop and Premiere Pro I created everything needed for this.

To achieve the right amount of simplicity i oriented the structure of the Website on Onepagers and mixed it with simple subpages so that the website visitors achieve the needed information fast and stressless. The advantage of a Onepager as the Homepage-Site is, that its kinda a business card for them - especially for local shops.

I also wanted to give the visitors an insight of the barber shops magical story to create customer nearness. For this not only I shot Photos and Videos and integrated them in the Page. I also did editorial texting to give kinda a three dimensional touch to it consisting of Photo-, Video- and touching Text elements.
