The Challenge: Capturing a "Living" Evolution
Orne Mendi’s debut album, "Todavía no salió el disco" (The album hasn't come out yet), represents a journey of persistence and growth over four transformative years (2022–2026). The challenge was to develop a visual identity that evolves alongside her, reflecting her transition from an emerging artist to her most authentic self.
The Core Concept: Her Notebook as a Witness
How do you encapsulate years of creativity, delays, and triumphs? Through her personal notebooks. Orne meticulously documents daily life, creative sparks, and to-do lists in her annual planners. These intimate artifacts became the foundation of the brand.
Human-Centric Design: Each element bears a "handmade" quality, utilizing real scans of her agendas, Polaroid textures, and raw photography.
The Personal Touch: The typography features not a digital font, but the authentic handwriting of Orne and her grandmother, infusing intergenerational warmth and soul that AI cannot replicate.
The Brand Manual: A 360° Creative Framework
This project transcended a simple logo design; it was about creating a cohesive universe. The brand manual serves as a guide for future collaborators—film directors, stylists, photographers—to ensure the essence of "Orne" remains intact.
Values & Visual DNA: Clearly defining who Orne is (and isn't).
Creative References: Drawing inspiration from the strong identities of artists like Mac Miller, Kota the Friend, Karol G, and Bad Bunny.
Art Direction & Styling: Comprehensive guidelines for indoor/outdoor photography, stage design, and wardrobe to maintain a "warm but raw" aesthetic.
Digital Strategy: A dual approach for social media—TikTok for authentic, "behind-the-scenes" storytelling and Instagram for a curated, visually striking presentation.
The Visual Deliverables: 8 Tracks, 8 Stories
I crafted a cohesive system of 8 unique covers (Main single, 6 individual tracks, and the final "Back Cover" for the last song).
System of Constants & Variables: Each cover encapsulates the mood of its respective song while maintaining brand recognition within the "notebook" ecosystem, ensuring consistency across Spotify and Apple Music.
Motion Identity: For each track, I created 8-second seamless loops.
Spotify Canvas: Vertical immersive experiences that enhance listening.
YouTube & Live Visuals: Horizontal loops designed for stage backdrops that synchronize music with the performance environment, creating an immersive atmosphere.
