Where the Wildflowers Grow is a photo publication by Michaela Nagyidaiová documenting the life of her grandmother, a woman who was sent alone from Greece to Czechoslovakia at the age of four during the Greek Civil War.
The project weaves together archival documents, handwritten letters, family photographs and landscapes into an intense exploration of a story that was almost lost. Only four copies exist, each designed, printed and hand-bound by me from start to finish.
