The scary part wasn’t the monster.
It was making the interface feel like it was watching back. 👀
After exploring the concept, I started turning that idea into a real interactive experience with Rive.
I built CursedOS — a cursed SaaS infrastructure dashboard where everything looks like a normal monitoring system… until the numbers, alerts, and interface start behaving very differently.
The technical side was just as important as the visual concept:
→ Rive CLI + RML for the interface structure → Rive state machine for interactive animation → GPU Canvas for rendering → WGSL shader for the glitch / CRT distortion effect → Custom UI animation and motion states → A deliberately controlled “system failure” aesthetic
The result is a dashboard that doesn't just look haunted.
It feels like something is happening behind the interface.
That was the fun part of this challenge: combining frontend engineering, motion, shaders, interaction design, and visual storytelling into one experience.
Built for the Rive Halloween Challenge. 🎃
