What if the scariest thing

What if the scariest thing in a Halloween game… isn’t the monster? 👀
It’s the moment when you realize:
“Wait… the interface is watching me too.”
For the Rive Halloween Challenge, I’m exploring a concept built around a simple psychological idea:
People fear what they can’t fully predict.
Instead of relying only on jumpscares, I want to play with anticipation, uncertainty, and the feeling that something is happening just outside your attention.
The goal isn’t just to make something that looks scary.
It’s to create an interaction that makes your brain say:
“Something feels wrong… but I don’t know what.” 🕯️
That’s where I think interactive design becomes really powerful.
🎃 Rive + GPU Canvas 🧠 Psychology + interaction 👁️ Fear through anticipation ⚡ Motion that reacts to the user
I’m curious:
What scares you more — seeing the monster, or knowing that something is there but not being able to see it?
