Blomdahl&Co: studio identity and website

Blomdahl&Co is my independent branding and website studio on Sweden’s west coast. This is its own identity and website, designed and built in Framer. It’s also the clearest example of how I work: strategy first, then one system that carries through every page.

The brief.

A studio that sells brand and web work is judged on its own site before anything else. It had to show restraint and craft without looking like every black-and-white agency portfolio, and it had to sell three services clearly: Strategy, Branding and Website design.

The identity.

Neue Haas Grotesk carries all the text. Tiempos Headline is used sparingly, for the wordmark and nothing else. The palette is warm, not neutral: olive, burnt ochre, fjord blue and umber, against white pages. The colour sits in the navigation and footer only, so the work stays the focus.

The accent system.

Each section of the site has its own colour: olive for the homepage, fjord blue for Services, umber for About and burnt ochre for Insights. Each case study is assigned one of the four as well. The colour appears only in the menu and footer, so a visitor always knows where they are, while the layout, type and grid stay the same. The footer closes with the full wordmark and the local time in Uddevalla.

Interaction.

One rule for every list of links: hover over one item and the others step back. It’s applied the same way to the navigation and the social links, so the site behaves predictably without explaining itself.
Case study template

Case studies.

Every case is built from one CMS template: title and disciplines, one large hero, sections that alternate text and media, and a “More projects” row. Adding a new case is content work, not design work.
Insights article

Insights.

Articles answer the questions clients ask before they get in touch, such as what a website costs. They use the same type system as the rest of the site, with category and reading time up front and a long-form layout built for reading.

Outcome.

A studio site that works as a sales tool and a portfolio piece at once. A single system lets me add cases and articles without touching the design, and an accent palette gives the brand warmth without competing with the work.
