Editorial Design

Summary
I design editorial pieces (magazines, books, catalogs, reports, zines) that combine strong typographic systems, storytelling structure, and refined visual hierarchies. With a background in architecture, photography, and graphic design, I bring a structural mindset and an editorial eye to every layout, creating publications that are both aesthetically compelling and functionally clear. Whether it’s a minimalist art zine or a dense annual report, I tailor each project to its narrative and audience.
Process
Initial brief and content intake: We begin by clarifying your goals, audience, and intended format. You share your manuscript (text, images, data, etc.) and any references, past editions, or brand guidelines.
Structural planning and wireframing: I define the grid system, page size, type hierarchy, color usage, and visual rhythm. For multipage projects, I outline a flatplan (page map) to organize the flow of content.
Concept layout: I design 3–5 sample pages or spreads to set the tone, style, and rhythm. This includes sample covers, intro pages, and internal content sections.
Full layout execution: Once the concept is approved, I design the full publication. This includes careful attention to spacing, alignment, typesetting, image placement, and visual pacing.
Revisions and finalization: You review a full draft and provide feedback. I offer up to 2–3 rounds of refinements for layout, corrections, and structure.
Delivery: You receive print ready files (PDF with bleed, crop marks, CMYK), screen optimized PDFs, source files (InDesign and IDML), and optional EPUB or digital flipbook files. I can also coordinate with your printer if needed.
