Norsol Visual Identity Project

The Brief: Welcome to Nørsol, your premier destination for experiencing the serene beauty of Scandinavia. As a Scandinavian lodge rental company, we specialize in providing accommodations that immerse you in the breathtaking landscapes of the Nordic region. Our lodges blend modern amenities with traditional Nordic charm, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay.

The Creative Process: For this project, I decided to research Nordic history to understand its uniqueness and how I could incorporate it into the visual identity. During my research, I discovered various Nordic rune symbols, each with its own meaning. My primary goal was to find a symbol representing comfort, one of Norsol's main attributes. I learned about the Nordic rune symbol WUNJO, which stands for joy, comfort, and prosperity.

With my chosen Nordic element in mind, I proceeded to integrate it into the logo. After experimenting with different approaches, I finalized the logo you see above. It features the WUNJO symbol for comfort, enclosed within the outline of a house. This design conveys the idea of Norsol’s customers finding comfort in their lodge rentals. To maintain a welcoming feel, I ensured the logomark's corners were rounded.

As a creative touch, I added slight roughening to some areas of the logomark to evoke an outdoor forest vibe, reflecting the lodge rentals' forested surroundings for guests to explore.
