BookBed | Booking SaaS, Flutter Apps & Firebase Backend

BookBed is my own property-management SaaS for independent hosts. I design, build and maintain the product, including its booking calendar, guest-facing flows, backend and integrations. It brings property management and direct bookings into one product.

Status: the app is published on iOS and Android, and the marketing website is live. A redesign of the host dashboard, calendar and booking flow is in progress. The visuals below include both the published app and work in progress; they do not imply that every redesigned screen is already released.

As the sole founder, designer and developer, I handled product design, the Flutter interface, the Firebase data model and authentication, integrations, deployment and continued iteration. This is my own product, rather than a client engagement. The work covers host operations and the guest booking experience, with the app and marketing website serving different needs.

Host operations: property records, reservation management and a timeline calendar, with iCal synchronisation and overlap checks for external booking feeds.

Guest experience: property browsing, search, booking details and direct-booking interfaces connected to the host data.

Billing infrastructure: Stripe integration, webhook-driven subscription state and checkout updates between browser tabs. Subscription billing is built and tested, but has not been activated for paid traffic.

Backend and communication: Firebase authentication, Firestore data, Cloud Storage media, Cloud Functions, transactional email and push notifications.

App and website delivery: a shared Flutter codebase for the app, with published mobile versions and a separate marketing website. Ongoing work includes responsive layouts, release fixes and product improvements.

Flutter, Dart and Firebase, including Authentication, Firestore, Storage and Cloud Functions, with Stripe billing integrations, Resend email and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Technical choices are tied to the booking and host-management workflows.

BookBed has published iOS and Android apps and a live marketing website. Development continues, and the current redesign is clearly separated from the released version.

For a founder, this work shows the scope I can take responsibility for: defining a useful first release, building the interface and backend, connecting external services, preparing releases and continuing development after launch. You work directly with the person implementing the product. Deliverables, integrations and handover are agreed for your project rather than assumed from this example.
