🤝 B2B Partnerships & B2C Editorial

Although I began my role at Bandsintown company as their editorial manager, I left as their global head of artists partnerships. My first task was to bring my experience in editorial to establish the brand’s B2C voice through content partnerships with artists. This required understanding the needs of concert goers and their relationship to their favorite bands, and how they could connect with them through our platform. I created an extensive brand voice document including user personas, built the content strategy from the ground up, oversaw website design & build and press around the launch, and grew our freelance network from 0 to 100+ contributors globally. Eventually this role grew into a larger artist partnerships role, where I was tasked with moving from NYC to LA to build the global artist partnerships team, and used artist and fan data to discover patterns that would inform an emerging artist program akin to Spotify RISE, Apple Up Next etc. To market this program, I launched, executed, and produced the first-ever data driven showcase at SXSW higlhlighting Bandsintown's Big Break artists. This program is still running today. Building relationships with record labels, artists, and their managers was key to understanding what the artists needed from our platform and how I could bring these insights to the dev team. Working with the product team allowed me to directly influence the roadmap to improve the product, as well as to help establish the B2B brand voice imperative to the success of new product launches, educating the music industry on our tools, and artist onboarding to the platform. The team I oversaw and grew included two US account managers, two EU account managers, Canadian artist data team, customer support, editorial team, and internship program. I left having grown the number of artists using the platform by almost 20%.
