The Thread Theory is an online women's boutique based in Singapore that carries its self-manufactured designs. Believers in a sound theory in pleasing threads, their designs combine fine quality and our brand's signature romance, and aim to make outfit pairing seamless and easy!

As their Creative Assistant, I helped with creating two of their in-house clothing prints for their Chinese New Year annual collection.

Of Peace & Love Clothing Print

The direction they wanted was a print that seamlessly blends fruit, animals, and nature-inspired elements with the elegance of Porcelain patterns and the intricate beauty of Moroccan tiles, allowing the pieces to be worn anytime in the year.

四季平安, 鸽传吉祥 | Peace in all four seasons, with doves bearing blessings."

Embracing symbols synonymous with harmony and abundance, the new year heralds the arrival of prosperity for the family. Doves symbolize positivity, fruits signify the promise of forthcoming rewards, and lavenders impart a delightful essence of joy and fortune. United, these elements eloquently convey Chinese wishes for abundant blessings in the year ahead.

Feng Shui Fortune

With the direction to infuse a Japanese aesthetic, the inspiration drawn from the serene beauty of Japanese landscapes and the harmony of natural elements were implemented. By employing an overprint effect and skillful calligraphy brushstrokes, the aim was to imbue the print with the essence of a traditional painting, transforming it into a captivating piece of wearable art.

风生水起, 好运来 | "As the wind rises and water flows, good fortune comes."

Different natural elements were illustrated individually to bring auspicious chi energy for fortune, longevity, and success. Water and mountains symbolising prosperity, benefactors, and harmony, with wind elements to propel fortune through balance. Bridges to connect and balance opposing forces, cranes to represent longevity, flowers for growth and vitality, and bamboo for resiliency.
These were the prints I illustrated for the design prints.
