Friends: A New Meaning Cover

The story revolves around a girl named Joan Gladstone aka Jo, who has grown up feeling like she's the black sheep of the family. She is a happy girl, who wants to be full of life, but her enviornment has made her lose her confidence, and her motivation in life. Her parent's weren't happy with her, her sister used to demotivate her every time, and her brother felt she could never do anything in life.

The one thing that Jo loved and wanted to be in her life was; to be a live reporter. She loved the thought of being able to report something live, as she felt live reporting was meaninful for people, and she felt content.

Though Sandra was Jo's sister, she used to demotivate her every moment she got. For that matter even when Jo was going to get her dream job, Sandra interfered and got Jo a desk job at Midday Times. Jo hated her job as she thought, in today's rechnology era, who reads newspaper.

This eventually cost her job. Her editor transfered her to the Washington office with a demoting review as well. Now, in Washington, not only was the city new to her, she knew no one here.

For Jo's family, her parents want excellent performance from their children. Likewise, their son George is a businessman, their daughter Sandra is a top model. But with Jo, they feel she can always do more, but lacks in everything she does. Because of this they often compare her with her siblings, which only made matters worse for her.

On finding this about Jo's parents, Chris helps Jo understand what her parents want from her, and tells every parent ahs hisher own way to express love, but that doesn't mean they don't care. He also makes her parents realize, you have to express your love in a way your child understand, and realizes you love them.

Jo's sister Sandra is the antagonist of the story. Even thouhg it looks like she is the perfect daughter, in reality she has been always jealous of Jo. And, this is the reason she always finds way's to make Jo look bad. When she found out Jo was going to get her dream job, she deliberatly makes the editor shcnage her mind by slandering Jo's working ability.

She also makes Jo feel that it's because of Sandra she got the job, or else her ability is not even so much as to get a desk job. Of course, later on Sandra gets in trouble with her boyfriend, and it's Jo who saves her making her regrett and ask for forgivness from her sister Jo.

Christopher Davis aka Chris, is an undercover FBI agent who lives in an apartment. One day his landlady asks if he can share the apartment with a girl. Of course, Chris obliges, and even helps Jo after finding out about her life, and how demotivates she is in her life.

Chris becomes the shining light that Jo lacked in her life. he not only shows her how to live, but makes her realize her true self. He helps her regain her lost confidence, and self motivation. He also makes her reconcile with her family.

The story breaks the taboo a boy and a girl cannot be friends minus the love factor. Regardless of back ground, family, work, both find a friednship that's more valuble for them then anything. The story helps you understand one's true self is within, and you don't have to prove others.

As long as you prove to yourself what your worth is, other's will automatically know your worth.
