Application Development for MyHomies

Myhomies is a marketplace designed to connect individuals seeking flatshares or studios across Switzerland. The platform aims to simplify the housing search process by offering a user-friendly interface and a comprehensive listing of available accommodations.

In this project, I undertook a comprehensive overhaul of the existing MyHomies application to enhance user experience, optimize performance, and ensure scalability. The key aspects of the project included:

Data Migration: Seamlessly transitioned existing live user data to the new system, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.

Design Integration: Implemented a modern design style guide across all user interface elements to create a visually appealing experience.

Database Optimization: Restructured the database architecture with a focus on SEO to target long-tail keywords more effectively.

Mobile Responsiveness: Developed a fully responsive mobile version of the platform, ensuring accessibility and usability across various devices.

Email Integration: Integrated SendGrid to facilitate custom-designed emails for onboarding, notifications, and user engagement.

SMS Verification: Twilio's SMS verification system was incorporated to authenticate user phone numbers, enhancing security and trustworthiness.

Booking Management: Designed and implemented a robust booking system to manage availability, reservations, and scheduling efficiently.

Reusable Components: Developed reusable elements and variants within the front end for maintainability and consistency across the platform.
