Fault Radio, is a streaming based radio station, located in Chinatown, San Francisco, CA. They invited GRL GRP to transform their space! Through our installation, we invoked the beauty, chaos, and colors of a teen girl’s bedroom.
Femme Ephemera began as a series of ideas and conversations that culminated in a colorful celebration of girlhood, women, and music. After collecting images that represent the range of contributions that women in music have made across time and genre, GRLGRP created artful wall collages reminiscent of how many girls decorate their bedrooms. By emulating this place-making, identity-exploring process of decorative collage, we were able to create a space that inspires curiosity and nostalgia for all who enter.
