Exhibition Identity

The exhibition explores world-building as a means to resist, transform, and anchor historical junctures into the contemporary. Examining intersectional narratives of the construction and deconstruction of gender, womanhood, and femininity, with trans perspectives and the racialized subject, the works bring forth unwritten stories of women’s role in history in order to achieve a post-patriarchal future.
For the exhibition design, the icons were created from research on what shapes would be considered feminine, which led to the classification of how women's bodies are classified into five shapes: round, rectangle, triangle, diamond and hourglass. These shapes were then taken and merged together to form an icon for each artist.
