Overview

Working on the Feed-holi e-commerce website, I had two goals to achieve.
Revamp their current e-commerce website over Shopify to provide users with a simple yet professional place where users can find the best food for their dog.

Problem Statement

In order to create a seamless user experience and create an aesthetic design, we started our research by getting insight from our customers and making more sense of their likes and dislikes of the current competition available in the market. Our findings were as follows:
Brand personality was missing.
Users usually skip shopping because they feel that the company is underrated. Company unique were not distinguished properly.
Irrational and wrong story structures focus on less important areas.
They need a clean, easy-to-shop store that can communicate with users in a better way.
We also looked at our competitors to understand and compare our store with theirs. Market competitors include
The Jinx
The Farmers Dog
Stella and Chewy
Open Farm Pet

Audience

Our audience is Dog owners, people who care about nutrition, mostly females, age 25-45. Usually, these people are really picky about finding hygienic and quality food for their dogs. They do not compromise with their pet’s health and make sure to buy from their trusted vendors.

Team / Role

My role within the team as Visual / UX Designer was to revamp feed-holi e-commerce store based on Shopify to provide customers with a clean, easy-to-shop, visually appealing store that can communicate with design in a better way.
Leading the team and working with the developers. Working continuously and tirelessly end-to-end from user research to creating wireframes for building structure and finalizing product in terms of prototype. We are more creative and focused toward ideas, aiming to incorporate stakeholder feedback along the way.

Constraints

While working with Feed-holi e-commerce one of the biggest challenges is to compete with competition already available in the market. As they were doing a marvelous job in building a trust-worthy brand.
So our aim was to create an exceptional store that can get customers and make space for itself. Also we need to design everything while keeping in mind theme limitations. As stakeholders push us to the wall with strict timelines. We focus towards a clean and elegant design.

Design Process

Thriving for creating a successful Diamond Oak e-commerce store. We divide our process into three steps.

1. Requirement Elicitation

Prompt the stakeholder to fill out a survey form. Survey forms include sets of questions to get a better understanding of their current design, market competition, design inspirations and pain points they are facing.

2. Wireframes

Creating wireframes of the required pages so that users can understand layout and hierarchy, content strategy and information architecture.

3. Visual Design

Creating visual designs based on insights, Product branding guidelines and wireframes created.

Retrospective

One thing that I really missed at that time was to have in-depth understanding of shopify component options available in the theme. Later on I thoroughly examine each section with their customization available so that we can give faster results without or less use of custom coding.
