Overview 🔎

Jewels of Teaching has undergone a multitude of transitions since its start in early 2020. There have been re-brandings, focusing, and clarification of different audiences. Looking through the different blog articles, you will notice that some articles write directly to students, some to teachers, and now (in its most recent clarification) teacherpreneurs.

Problem & Solution 🤝

Jewels of Teaching needed to improve SEO and gain authority in the education niche as it whittled down and clarified its ideal audience. Once consistent with blogging, the average daily unique views to the site moved from 10-20 views to 100-150 unique views per day.
Goals/Requirements: • Needed to keep a consistent friendly tone • Needed Researched SEO for each article • Wanted to improve unique views over time

Process 🛣

Using Ubersuggest, I was able to search for keywords that most directly influence ranking for each blog topic and also works as searchable terms for the intended audience. Then, I create an outline of the main topics, use those keywords to create headers, and then fill in the information using either my own knowledge or (more often) a mix of my experience and concepts I have researched on the topic. The blog is then formatted, revised, and proofread before final submission (with a thumbnail for the blog and social, SEO URL, and SEO description of the page).

Results 🎁

Each of these blogs have seen an uptick in views on the website itself as well as content that has been reused and reshared as captions/content for social media (such as on Instagram and Pinterest).

Takeaways 📣

I love that the Jewels of Teaching Blog has allowed me to fine tune writing to diverse audiences even if the topic is the same. I have learned more about formatting, SEO, and been able to practice all of my writing skills throughout the various topics, audiences, and brand needs.
