Open Source Collective is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit fiscal sponsor that provides financial and legal infrastructure for thousands of open-source projects.
OSC is a key component of the Open Collective ecosystem. Open Collective provides the software platform as a network of organizations, while OSC (along with other fiscal host organizations) offers fiscal hosting services.
As part of the branding strategy for Open Collective, it became necessary for the financial service providers to have their own distinct identity and be perceived as a separate organization from the platform. I spearheaded the development of a new brand, working closely with OSC stakeholders, to establish a brand that would help the thousands of open-source projects they hosted to identify better and trust their host organization.
