I was hired as a 3-month contractor by The Gourmand Group to assist with the management of the social media and email marketing for the inaugural POC Food & Wine Festival.

By the end of our contract there was an increase of +1,785% in reach, +817% in engagement, and +361% in total followers.

About The Client

The POC Food & Wine Festival is a new food and wine festival located in The Bay debuting for its first year in May 2024. This festival is a celebration of the global majority and their allies in food, wine, music, and culture. Their goals are to: Create a community-minded, welcoming space for EVERYONE to learn about, explore, and enjoy fine wines, foods, and hospitality. Celebrate people of color in the food, wine, arts & entertainment industry and the innovation and diversity that already exists. Connect leaders, creatives, entrepreneurs, and artists with multicultural communities to inspire new, innovative, creative collaborations.

This festival's motto was to stop waiting for a seat at the table and BUILT their own table where EVERYONE had a seat.

Social Media Management

My role was to assist in ideating and creating content that would help bring awareness and translate into ticket sales. I was also responsible for project managing design deliverables to the graphic designer for many of these content pieces. Along with the content, I assisted in caption writing which always included an engaging hook, necessary information and a call to action. I was also responsible with the scheduling/posting of the content as well as community management of story mentions, DMs and comments. During the festival, I was also present to capture content and provide a quick turnaround of a recap reel.










Email Marketing

I assisted in the strategy of the email marketing for the festival which included ideation of email topics, engaging subject lines, copywriting and design.





Our social media and email marketing efforts resulted in a SOLD OUT signature Main Dish event.
