2015 - Music Streaming Service

Occasionally as a UI designer in an IT consultant, I often get briefs that are not clear. 🥴 Sometimes clients also don't know what they are up to, and we as consultants try to find their needs and summarize the problems to offer solutions.

For example, I once had a client working in the music industry. They seemed to be having a hard time making money. An idea came up to start an online music course website; also, they wanted an online jamming session feature 🎹.

However, their business strategy is not detailed, so we miss some critical elements, such as the user acquisition method with a limited marketing and source budget 🤷🏻‍♀️. Finally, after discussing several things about business ideas, their business model changed because they realized that they have a lot connections with music labels than artists, music teachers, and people who want to learn music 🧐.

Yet, we offered an online music streaming service 💿 (at that time, Spotify had not yet reached our country). They were interested, and we made it! The system works! But the service didn't last long once it was successfully created; their music library is limited, because they have some issue with partnership relation 😩. Yes, our clients were expertise in the music industry and not in business. We offer them a business to sell products in the form of music, not selling the beauty of music itself. 😢
