Splice Bridge - DAW Integration & Feature Development

For music producers, the creative workflow is everything. A major point of friction is getting a sample from a library like Splice into their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and making it fit the key and tempo of their song. Splice Bridge was created to solve this exact problem, acting as a specialized plugin that seamlessly connects the Splice catalog to the user's DAW, allowing them to preview sounds in real-time, perfectly in sync with their project.

As a Front-End Engineer on the team, my role was to develop key interactive features that made this seamless workflow possible. I collaborated closely with product managers and designers to translate complex user needs into a clean, intuitive, and highly functional interface. My approach was focused on reducing clicks and removing friction, ensuring that a producer could stay in their creative flow without being interrupted by technical hurdles.

Real-Time Pitch & Tempo Matching I developed the core transpose component, a critical feature that allows musicians to adjust a sample's key (pitch) and BPM (tempo) in real-time. This functionality is essential as it lets a producer audition a sample in the context of their own song before they even download it, dramatically speeding up their creative process.

Intuitive UI & User Guidance To ensure the plugin was easy to use, I created several key front-end UI components, including the coachmarks and toasts. These elements provided on-screen guidance and contextual feedback to the user, helping them understand the plugin's features and confirming their actions, which was crucial for a smooth onboarding experience.

Seamless "Copy to DAW" Workflow I implemented the "Copy to DAW" feature, which is the final, crucial step in the user's journey. This allowed a musician, with a single click, to send the perfectly matched sample from Splice Bridge directly into their project timeline in their DAW. This seemingly simple action saved users significant time and effort on every single track they made.
