This month, this year, and this life has been crazy. Ever feel like the world just isn’t slowing? Everything is back to pre-pandemic times. The hustle and bustle is grinding again, and if you aren’t running right along with it, you will miss your stop.
Whether it is work which has been busy, or your personal life that won’t slow down, it’s always one thing after another. Before you know it we are in December and another year has quickly and quietly brushed upon us.
Regardless of where you are at, how busy the world is moving for you, and how little time you have, there is one constant to it all. One constant to the hustle and bustle, and that is Jesus.
Jesus. I think it is important to realize that the Christmas season is to celebrate the birth of the Savior King. It is no accident that Christ was born this time of year. When we are seemingly too busy throughout the year to focus our eyes upon the cross, at the end of the year when the Christmas season comes around again, the focal point is all Jesus and the rugged cross.
So regardless of how much you have out off your relationship with Jesus or how little time you have had to experience his presence this year, there is always a time when even in the busiest of time, the Lord is in the stillness of the morning. He is in the stillness before the first cup of coffee, when the coffee maker is still brewing and you’re waiting for your first steamy cup. Jesus is in the moment when you’re in your bathroom getting ready for a meeting with a client that has recommendations for an upcoming project you’ve been busy working on.
We do not have to wait until the busiest time of the year to notice the small moments and to see that the focal point of our whole year and everything we go thru has Jesus right there, in front of us.
*BLOG UPDATE*
Not surprisingly, I have taken some time away from blogging. Life, like stated above, has been full of the busiest and toughest of seasons. There is always one thing that calls me home through all of the hustle and bustle. JESUS. When I am consistently reading scripture, and praying, I find it the easiest to see God in the moments all around me. When I am far from be consistent and in the words and praying, I find it the hardest to see God in any moments of my life. Like many other seasons in my life, I let the business of my life rule my relationship with Jesus, let it overpower his authority over my life.
I’ve come to realize the lonelier I get and the older I get, the more I crave the peace of His word and prayer in my life, regardless of how busy I get, I force the time. In those moments I find that I notice God’s directions more. When life is the busiest and I still find the time to be in the word, God is right there directing and lighting my path.
That is how I feel about this blog. I feel like God has given me this platform, this whole experience to use to spread his goodness and be a light to other women in my generation. Before I made the excuse of being too busy for this platform, but the more I pray about it and meditate with God, the more it is clear that God has directed me to where I am right now, in this small hometown coffee shop, writing this small portion of my testimony for you to read.
This is not the end of a blogging era for me, but the beginning of sharing bit of my testimony and being a light to what others call the “dark web.”
