Cigla Arhitektura—Editorial Website Redesign and Framer Build

Cigla Arhitektura is an architecture studio that needed a website that felt more aligned with the quality of its work. My role was to redesign the old site, prepare the new direction in Figma, and migrate the content into a fully rebuilt Framer website.

Overview

The goal was not just to refresh the visual style, but to create a more premium digital presence—one that would present the studio’s projects with more clarity, atmosphere, and confidence. Since architecture work relies heavily on visuals, the main challenge was finding the right balance between strong imagery and comfortable readability.

Design Direction

I approached the redesign with an editorial mindset. The visual system was kept clean and restrained, allowing the projects to take the spotlight while still giving the website a luxurious and carefully art-directed feel. Typography, spacing, and image rhythm played a big role in making the experience feel refined without becoming visually heavy.

Framer Development Focus

After designing the website in Figma, I built the new experience in Framer and handled the migration of content from the previous site.
A big part of the build was shaping the CMS experience around the client’s needs. One specific request was to make certain CMS listings appear in a randomized order, which required custom logic beyond the default setup. I also implemented dynamic filters to make browsing content more flexible and intuitive.

On top of that, I created custom forms for submitting questions, helping the site feel more useful as a communication touchpoint—not just a static portfolio.

Performance and Experience

Because architecture websites depend on large, high-quality imagery, optimization was an important part of the build. I paid special attention to image handling and overall site performance to preserve the premium look without slowing the experience down.
I also used Framer’s built-in smooth page transitions to give the site a more polished flow. That subtle motion helped connect pages more elegantly and added to the overall high-end feel of the project.

Outcome

The final result was a much more premium and contemporary website that better matched the quality of the studio’s architectural work. The client was extremely happy with the outcome, especially with how the new site elevated the brand and presentation of their projects.
What I like most about this project is that it shows how Framer can be pushed beyond a simple marketing site—combining strong visual direction, CMS flexibility, custom functionality, and a more elevated browsing experience in one polished build.
