Shopify Website Design for Minimalist Perfume Brand

The main goal of this project was to design a website for a fictional perfume brand called Minimalist Fragrances

The goals of this project was to build a website that

Is intuitive, looks professional and is easy to navigate for shoppers

Accurately reflects the brand of Minimalist Fragrances

Is based on Shopify's Dawn theme with enough customization to make it feel a bit custom

Fully setup on the Shopify backend with products, discounts, shipping settings, and apps that make receiving orders and getting leads an easy process.

Would be easy to update in the future, so the owners wouldn't feel daunted by the prospect of making little changes to the website in the future.

Minimalist Fragrances is an environmentally-conscious company that creates perfumes and merch with subtle scents and simple packaging. The brand has a minimalist vibe with use of main colors of black and white and pastel colors like brown and yellow to bring a little pop to the website in a way that's not overpowering. This helps the product to be front and center and appeals to their target audience who don't want overpowering scents and are attracted to a minimalist vibe.

Using Shopify's Dawn Theme, which has a pretty robust and accessible design, and adding in some apps, custom sections and coding, a user-friendly, modern and professional website was created for Minimalist Fragrances.

A multicolumn section under the hero section highlighting the features of the products and brands with a focus on how eco-conscious the brand is and other attractive features like free shipping

A custom-coded scent of the week section to highlight a different perfume each week and draw customer's attention

A review and featured in section to build trust in the brand

A section showing the bestselling perfumes to showcase the best of the perfumes and get people interested in exploring the products more. There's also an "explore our products" section with links to collection pages.

The footer was also elevated to have two menus for easy navigation, the logo of the brand in different spots and a newsletter sign-up form to gather leads.

A free gift floating icon on all pages which opens up to a popup showing viewers that they can get a free gift if they purchase products worth a certain amount. This is also to motivate more sales and was set up using an app in the Shopify App Store.

This also had a minimalist design in line with the other pages on the website with specific blocks and sections added to show the customer the information they need to make a buying decision.

Metafields were added to showcase key notes of each product below the description

Icon with text block added to showcase three important features of the perfumes and another block to show the current promotion (buy 2+ items, get 10% off). This helps draw customers eyes to important information that can influence their decision to buy

A complimentary/recommended product to upsell customers. This block was added using the Shopify Search & Discovery app.

Reviews & Ratings of products shown on product page using the JudgeMe App

A metaobject section to add a brand feel to the product page with custom info for each product

An about page to showcase more about the brand, its ethics, how the perfumes are crafted etc.

A FAQs page that answers questions customers frequently have

Several collection pages for easier navigation and shopping (shop all, fragrances, accessories, bestsellers, etc.)

A gift card product page for those who want to purchase gift cards

Shipping and exchanges & returns policy page as mandated by law

Blog for articles on layering perfumes and other perfume facts
