Covac - Health App for Vaccine Distribution

Several pharmaceutical companies have started to develop a COVID-19 vaccine to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in the world, which are increasing day by day. The question is, Whether vaccines are essential and play an active role in human life?

Of course, The existence of vaccines has succeeded in reducing the number of several diseases in the world, including:

Smallpox (1798)

Rabies (1885)

PES (1897)

Diphtheria (1923)

Pertussis (1926)

Tuberculosis (1927)

Tetanus (1927)

Yellow Fever (1935)

Polio (1955)

Etc.

WHO (World Health Organization) said that about 140 thousand people died from measles in 2018, even though the measles vaccine was discovered in 1964. It shows that there are problems related to vaccine distribution

WHO officially announced the COVID-19 outbreak as a global pandemic on March 9, 2020. The total number of cases recorded was 69.099.758. Now, the COVID-19 vaccine has been found, and the next question is how to spread the awareness of the vaccine and distribute it properly?

The project aims to create a platform that can provide information regarding the COVID-19 to increase awareness and ensure everybody gets equal access to the vaccination.

As the main designer and researcher in this project, I have some responsibilities to fulfill the following tasks:

Research the COVID-19 cases generally and the vaccine timeline

Conduct user research to find needs and pain-points

Identify the challenges and objectives through the research

Build persona as the ideation guideline

Create the mobile app design as the solution to the problems, which is in line with the ideation

Maintain the sustainability of the product

An interview session was conducted to understand the users and specify the users' needs and pain points, especially in facing the presence of vaccines.

Create a feature where users can order and buy the vaccine for the vaccination purpose

Create a feature that can help users in doing the vaccination and administration at the hospital to ensure their safeness

Create a social distancing feature for the users who can't receive the vaccination in any cases

Provide informative and factual information regarding the COVID-19 and the vaccine to increase the awareness

To make a platform that can make the vaccine distributed effectively and efficiently.

To increase the awareness of COVID-19 and engage people to do vaccination

Create an innovative and attractive mobile app

After all the research was done, a persona was created to guide the ideation process.

The ideation phase started by creating low-fidelity wireframes as the product that can solve the problems according to some point that has been found in fulfilling the users' needs.

After deciding the solutions that believed can help users in solving the related problems, user-flow was created to give an overview of the process of some ideation points.

In the final phase, the final prototype design was built according to the ideation and guidelines that had been decided before

Maintain Sustainability

In order to maintain the sustainability of the product, some additional feature has been implemented to the product, including:

Vaccine products are not only focused on the COVID-19 vaccine but can be adapted to developments and changes in the world of health

The social distancing feature enables the app to reach the non-end-user (the people that can't receive the vaccine) or in the condition where the vaccine is not ready yet

All the data and information was not only focused on the COVID-19 but can be adapted to the development and changes in the world of health as well

In conclusion, the app can be reused in any kind of situation that happens in the world of health, especially in cases in which vaccination is needed
