Overview: In a high-tech area of a Science Centre, which sees 750k visitors annually, I had the privilege of designing an interactive touchscreen application aimed at high school students, guiding them through the myriad of career possibilities.
Design Philosophy: Understanding the target audience, I opted for a freeform, icon-based interface. The vibrant, colour-coded icons were not just visually appealing but also intuitive, allowing users to dive deep into various industries with a simple tap.
User Interaction: Each icon, when tapped, unfurled a wealth of information about its corresponding industry. From detailed job descriptions to engaging videos, students received a comprehensive overview. Designed for collaborative exploration, the application could accommodate multiple users simultaneously, promoting group discussions and shared discoveries.
Challenges: Ensuring the application was both informative and engaging for its young audience was paramount. Balancing the depth of content with ease of navigation, especially when multiple users interacted concurrently, posed a unique design challenge.
Outcomes: The result is an immersive, interactive hub where students can explore and envision their future careers. The application has since become a cornerstone of the Science Centre's career hub, receiving commendation for its innovative approach to career exploration

Freeform, fun, educational, and interactive? With multiple simultaneous users? This was a hugely challenging project, thus an enjoyable one
