Number of Screens: 150+ Screens
Duration: 4–5 weeks
Tools Used: Figma & FigJam
Deliverables: UX flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, component extensions, interactive prototype

Objective

The goal of this project was to design an employee and client internal management dashboard that prioritized usability and clarity over visuals. The client’s primary focus was functionality, a clean, intuitive experience that made managing employees and clients seamless across different operations.

My Role

I worked as the product designer, responsible for creating the full dashboard experience while adhering to an existing design system. My focus was on optimizing the UX architecture, ensuring that every component, layout, and flow served a clear purpose. I also expanded the system by introducing additional components that supported new features and improved consistency across screens.

Overview

Die Software is a German company that needed an internal tool for employee and client management solutions. The project involved designing a dashboard platform that enables the company to manage employees, clients, and internal processes efficiently.
The client’s primary focus was user experience (UX) rather than visuals. They wanted something clean, minimal, and highly functional, ensuring users could perform key actions quickly and intuitively.
A fully established design system was already in place, which served as the foundation for the project. My role was to extend this system, creating additional components and patterns that aligned with the company’s visual language while optimizing usability.

Challenges & Highlights

The main challenge was designing within a predefined design system while still delivering unique functionality. Adapting to a system with fixed components required a shift in how I approached design, prioritizing consistency, hierarchy, and logic over creative visual exploration.
To meet new functional needs, I expanded the design system by creating new reusable components, ensuring scalability and visual balance across the product.
This project helped me deepen my understanding of how strong design systems empower designers to build faster, maintain consistency, and collaborate effectively.

Introspection

Working on this project was a learning curve and a growth point in my product design journey. Designing within a fully fledged system challenged me to think differently not about visual flair, but about system thinking, scalability, and maintaining harmony across all design elements.
It strengthened my ability to think like a system designer, ensuring every decision contributed to the long-term maintainability and usability of the product.
