Global Ecovillage Network | Event Coordination and Communication

The Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) is an international organization dedicated to fostering regenerative culture and sustainable communities. As part of the flagship European Ecovillage Gathering, the organization sought to create an environment where changemakers, ecovillage leaders, and sustainability advocates could connect, collaborate, and exchange solutions for addressing global challenges. A highlight of the event was the Community Resourcing Circle, a groundbreaking initiative designed to support emerging ecovillages by connecting them with resources, knowledge, and hands-on support from experienced participants. This event aimed to foster collaboration, promote the principles of regenerative culture, and generally dissolve the illusion of separateness in beingness in Nature.

As an Event Coordinator, I played a key role in organizing the Community Resourcing Circle while also supporting the broader logistics of the gathering. My responsibilities included planning, facilitating, and ensuring seamless communication across a multidisciplinary team of 20 people. Additionally, a few months after the gathering, I extended GEN’s mission by hosting a workshop at the Regens Unite Conference in Berlin, where I shared insights on how to find and support ecovillages, access government funding, and engage with regenerative community practices.

Coordinating the Community Resourcing Circle: Managed the application process, selected 3-4 emerging communities, and facilitated preparation meetings to help them clarify their goals and resource needs.

Hosting a Workshop at Regens Unite: Designed and delivered a session on finding and supporting ecovillages, accessing funding through government programs, and exploring resources for regenerative culture, reaching a wider audience and amplifying GEN’s mission.

Streamlining Communication: Collaborated with a 20-person team to manage large-scale event logistics, ensuring workflows, conflict resolution protocols, and team rhythms were efficient and aligned with the values of inclusivity and sustainability.

The European Ecovillage Gathering serves as a flagship event for promoting regenerative culture—a way of living that prioritizes connection, sustainability, and new (yet often indigenous) ways of organizing life. By providing a platform for collaboration, innovation, and resource-sharing, the gathering embodies the core principles of regenerative living.

This project demonstrates a deep commitment to sustainability, regenerative culture, and innovative community-building practices. By combining event coordination, facilitation, and strategic communication, I contributed to a transformative global initiative that inspired collaboration, empowered communities, and promoted solutions for a more sustainable and connected future. This experience highlights my ability to manage complex events, foster meaningful connections, and advocate for a culture rooted in regeneration and collaboration.
