Brand Identity for Moody Café

“Moody” is a bold, grunge-inspired brand identity designed for a café that embraces attitude, texture, and urban cool. The identity combines distressed textures, dark-toned colour palette,s and bold typography to capture a raw, gritty ambience—perfect for a café setting that wants to stand out from the polished, minimal crowd.
The idea was to create a brand that feels somewhat underground yet inviting—think: comfortable, authentic, unconventional. Grunge elements (like worn paper, rough edges, ink splatter) give the visual identity a lived-in, tactile feel. The mood is intentionally dark and moody—but the underlying message remains warm and human: this is a place to hang out, feel real, brew good coffee and connect.
Moody captures the essence of urban grunge with textured visuals, deep tones, and raw typography — creating a vibe that feels authentic, edgy, and unforgettable. The goal was to design a brand that reflects attitude and comfort at the same time — a space where creativity meets coffee.

Deliverables & My Role

Brand audit & market positioning (how to differentiate from typical café chains)
Logo design + variations (clean version, textured version)
Colour palette, brand guidelines
Print collateral: menu design, takeaway packaging, signage, merchandise
Digital collateral: social templates, photography style guidance
Interior signage mockups & way-finding in café setting
I led the entire creative direction, designed all primary assets, and developed the brand guidelines to ensure the identity can scale across physical and digital touchpoints.
This branding merges grit with warmth — giving the café a strong visual personality that stands out in a world of minimalism. Every element, from packaging to posters, reflects character, mood, and story.
Moody isn’t just a café — it’s an experience.
