Hey there, I'm Lyfty from LyftyStudio, and I'm super excited to share my game-making journey with you all. Learn more about the exciting projects I'm working on!
Here are the skills required to game development :
Programming: Mastering programming languages like GDScript (for Godot) and Python (for Ren'Py) is essential for implementing game mechanics, creating interactions, and ensuring smooth gameplay.
Game Design: Crafting engaging game mechanics, level layouts, and storylines requires a keen understanding of game design principles and player psychology.
Art and Design: Creating captivating visuals, character designs, and environments brings your game worlds to life. Skills in illustration, graphic design, and animation are invaluable.
Writing: Crafting compelling narratives and dialogue that immerse players in your game's world requires strong storytelling skills and attention to detail.
Sound Design: Using sound effects and music to enhance gameplay and evoke emotions adds depth to your games. Skills in audio production and editing are beneficial.
Here is my process :
Conceptualization: I start by brainstorming ideas and concepts for each game project, fleshing out the gameplay mechanics, characters, and storylines.
Development: Using Godot for my RPG farming simulator, platform game, and big game project allows for flexible and efficient game development. Ren'Py, on the other hand, is perfect for coding the visual novel aspect of my projects, offering powerful tools for narrative-driven gameplay.
Art and Assets: I create and design characters, environments, and assets that bring my game worlds to life. From pixel art for the platformer to detailed illustrations for the visual novel, each element is carefully crafted to enhance the player experience.
Testing and Iteration: Throughout the development process, I conduct thorough playtesting to identify bugs, balance gameplay, and gather feedback from players. Iterating based on this feedback ensures that my games are polished and enjoyable.
Release and Marketing: Once a game is ready, I focus on marketing efforts to reach a wider audience. Whether it's through social media, game forums, or press releases, I strive to build excitement and anticipation for my game releases.
My motivations to make those games :
Passion for Gaming: I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember, and creating games allows me to combine my love for storytelling, art, and technology into one creative outlet.
Bringing Ideas to Life: There's nothing quite like seeing an idea evolve from a concept into a fully realized game that players can enjoy. The satisfaction of bringing stories and characters to life motivates me every day.
Godot and Ren'Py: I chose Godot for its user-friendly interface, powerful features, and active community support, making it ideal for a wide range of game projects. Ren'Py's focus on visual novel development and its ease of use made it the perfect choice for coding my narrative-driven games.
