TickerScan was built for traders who wanted to spot market opportunities without constantly scanning charts manually.

The Problem

For busy traders and working professionals, constantly watching charts throughout the day isn't realistic. Important technical patterns can appear while they're at work, in meetings, or simply away from their screens.
The goal was to help users stay on top of the market without having to constantly monitor it. Instead of repeatedly checking charts for specific setups, TickerScan lets users define the patterns they care about and get notified when those conditions appear. By turning market monitoring into an automated alert system, users can focus on their work while TickerScan keeps watch for the opportunities they don't want to miss.

Designing the screener experience

Traders shouldn't have to open hundreds of charts to find a specific technical setup. The screener was designed to turn that manual search into a single discovery workflow.
Instead of starting with a blank search, users could choose from predefined technical patterns such as Doji, Hammer and Dragonfly Doji. Each result surfaced the information needed to quickly assess the opportunity, including timeframe, price, volume and when the pattern appeared.

From discovery to deeper analysis

Finding a stock was only the first step. Users needed enough context to understand whether an opportunity was worth investigating further.
Individual stock pages brought technical signals, multiple timeframes, price and volume data, related market information and stock specific news into one place. This created a clear path from discovering an opportunity to understanding the context behind it.

Setting up Alerts

Making alerts easier to configure

Creating an alert involved several decisions, including selecting a screener, choosing assets and deciding where notifications should be delivered. Instead of presenting everything at once, the flow was broken into clear steps.
This made a potentially complex configuration process easier to follow while keeping users focused on one decision at a time. This turned the screener from a tool users had to constantly monitor into a system that could work in the background for them.

From Alerts to Strategy Automation

TickerScan started by helping traders find opportunities without constantly watching the market. As the product evolved, the idea went beyond simply notifying users about a setup. The next step was helping them automate the strategies they already used.
Users could have their custom trading strategies developed and coded for MetaTrader 5 (MT5), turning their trading rules into automated systems that could monitor the market and execute based on their defined conditions.
The platform also allowed strategy creators to share and monetize their work, opening up a new layer of the product where traders could build strategies, automate them, and make them available to others.
This is where TickerScan evolved from a market monitoring tool into a broader platform for discovering, automating and sharing trading strategies.

Balancing free and premium access

The product needed to demonstrate its value before asking users to subscribe. Screener pages therefore showed the latest 10 matching stocks for free, while full access required a premium plan. The pricing experience clearly compared available access levels, features and monthly or yearly subscription options.

Supporting growth beyond subscriptions

TickerScan also included a partner referral program through Partnero. Partners could share their referral link and earn a 25% commission on qualifying subscriptions and subsequent renewals.
The integration added a growth layer to the product while giving partners access to their own dashboard for tracking referrals and commissions.

Major product experiences

TickerScan evolved from an initial concept into a complete product ecosystem covering market discovery, real time screeners, stock analysis, alerts, subscriptions, referrals and responsive experiences.
The product was fully designed, built and launched, including a Product Hunt release that received positive feedback. The project was later paused
