Successfully designed the feature for both buyers' and sellers' sides in a 5-day design sprint.

The post-testing interview showed 100% CSAT & 4/5 testers recommending the new feature to others.

As the leading online marketplace, Facebook Marketplace faces fierce competition from new players catering to specific needs or niches. To maintain its position and provide exceptional value to its users, we identified a unique challenge: the need for a scheduling feature that would enhance user experience and differentiate Facebook Marketplace from competitors. 

Our solution helps realtors & buyers select a convenient time effortlessly reducing the back & fourth communication & delays in the sales process. In a dynamic 5-day design sprint encompassing Understand, Sketch, Decide, Prototype, and Test stages, we designed & prototyped the feature.

This was my first time trying out a powerful tool like Design Sprint, and I'm glad we were able to create a feature in a short timeline. Design sprints are used to arrive at a solution as quickly as possible. However, I learnt that it is critical to fully understand the problem before moving the sprint forward.

Iterating UX copy is equally important. User testing highlighted the importance of well-crafted UX copy in guiding users' decision-making process, reinforcing the value of strong UX writing.

Given more time, we would explore extending the scheduling feature to Marketplace users selling items such as electronics or cars.  To further enhance the user experience, I would continue learning and practicing UX writing, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2), and conducting tests using accessibility testing tools.
