I helped a company streamline their project work by resolving their project planning issues.
The Lynwood Villas project was a residential construction project that I had the pleasure of managing. My primary role was to assist the project manager with project planning, creating lookahead plans, document control, and procurement.
During the project planning phase, I worked closely with the project manager to establish the project scope, timeline, and budget. I then created a detailed work breakdown structure (WBS) to help break down the project into smaller, more manageable tasks. Using Microsoft Project, I created a comprehensive Gantt chart to help the team visualize the project timeline and track progress against key milestones.
As part of my role in creating lookahead plans, I worked with the project team to identify critical activities that needed to be completed in advance of key project milestones. This helped the team stay on track and anticipate any potential roadblocks that could delay the project.
To ensure that document control was maintained throughout the project, I created a document management system that allowed all project-related documents to be stored, tracked, and easily accessed by the project team. This system helped to ensure that everyone was working from the most up-to-date project documents and helped to minimize the risk of errors or miscommunication.
Finally, in my role in procurement, I worked with the project manager to identify project-related materials and equipment that needed to be sourced and ordered. I developed a procurement plan and created a system to track the status of all procurement activities, from order placement to delivery.
Overall, my work on the Lynwood Villas project helped to ensure that the project was completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders involved.
