Floozy Coffee Roasters - Espresso Bag Label Design

Floozy Coffee Roasters is a family-run speciality coffee roaster in Newcastle, Australia. Since 2017, Floozy has been known for its ethically sourced beans, sustainable practices, and vibrant brand personality.

The owner, Kmac, discovered my work through their neighbour, Jam’s Karaoke, and approached me to redesign the labels for their two signature espresso blends: Golden Hour and Lucky Stars. She was seeking a fresh visual interpretation in a minimal style with bold colours, reflecting the fun and cool vibe that Floozy represents.

Each blend has a distinctive flavour profile. Golden Hour is a smooth, mellow blend with a warm, comforting touch, represented by the colour orange. Lucky Stars is a bold, rich and chocolatey blend, represented by the colour purple.

While the original labels featured landscapes, this time I incorporated animals and iconic motifs that captured each blend’s personality, aiming to build strong visual recognition.

For Golden Hour, I explored animals that resonate with a sunset backdrop, such as flamingos and camels. For Lucky Stars, I considered nocturnal animals like cats, owls and possums.

Golden Hour features a flying whale against a sunset backdrop, visually expressing its mellow, dreamy flavour profile. Lucky Stars features a bilby, an Australian nocturnal animal, holding a planet in the night sky, surrounded by twinkling stars.

I designed them in an emblem-like style with sweet typography to integrate with Floozy’s overall aesthetic, making them easily adaptable for other merchandise items, such as tote bags and mugs.
