I was approached by Outlier's design team to create a comprehensive suite of UI animation explorations for a potential platform redesign. Worked collaboratively across multiple design iterations, translating static design proofs into dynamic, interactive motion concepts.

The Challenge
Working across multiple design proofs meant each animation needed to feel native to its specific design direction while still exploring consistent interaction principles. The goal wasn't to deliver a final product—it was to test ideas, explore possibilities, and help the team make informed decisions about how motion should work in the new platform.

The Process
Over the course of two months, I created a suite of UI animation tests. Some explored micro-interactions—button states, hover effects, loading behaviors. Others focused on larger transitions between screens and states.
Each concept was an opportunity to answer questions: How fast should this transition feel? What easing curve makes sense here? How does motion reinforce hierarchy and user intent?

Iteration & Refinement
The project moved through multiple rounds as the design direction evolved. When the team shifted focus to a new proof, I'd adapt the animation approach to match. Some concepts were subtle and utilitarian. Others were more expressive and brand-forward.

Exploration Over Execution
This wasn't about delivering a polished final product—it was about creating tangible examples the team could react to. Motion design works best when you can see it, not just describe it. These explorations gave the design team a foundation to understand how animation could be integrated into the product experience.
