Fixing Email Authentication for Reliable Sending

The Need

A speech and occupational therapy practice was having emails flagged by recipient servers because the domain was missing required email authentication records.
The issue became especially clear when one client's IT team reached out to let the practice know their server was flagging the emails being sent.

The Build

I reviewed the client's sending setup and configured the SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records needed for Google Workspace.
I also reviewed the third-party platforms sending email on behalf of the client's domain. Where required, those senders were added to the existing SPF record or authenticated through their own DKIM records so the domain's email authentication remained properly configured.
For this client, the setup involved Bluehost, Google Workspace, and Mailchimp.

The Result

Once the authentication records were corrected and the third-party senders were properly accounted for, the client's emails were no longer being flagged by the recipient server.
The domain also had the proper authentication foundation in place for ongoing sending through Google Workspace and connected platforms.
