Thriftted is a peer-to-peer social marketplace designed to create a more sustainable and transparent online shopping experience. As a UX designer, financial analyst, and ideator, I collaborated with my team to identify the pain point of online shoppers blindly consuming items and create a viable solution that lasts 3 to 5 years.
FINAL PRODUCT
Thriftted uses AI avatar technology to convert real people's measurements to the online space, providing a more personalized experience for buying and selling. The platform offers an engaging and sustainable solution for thrifting and allows users to try on clothes online without the fear of purchasing the wrong fit.
THE DESIGN
Separated Forms: Creating separate tap-in forms allows sellers to stay focused and create descriptive items in less time.
Item Measurements: Sellers can draw up and manually input item measurements.
Drop-Down Descriptions: A drop-down description was placed to speed up search flow and time after discovering most individuals do not read item descriptions unless they already feel convinced to purchase.
Recently Answered: A separate recently answered drop-down section was added for sellers to group common questions.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was to build trust between garments and their owners in the online space, as participants described issues with wrong sizing descriptions and not knowing how items will look. With the increasing online shift, we aimed to provide a more interactive and welcoming environment by utilizing AI technology.
THE RESEARCH
While my partners gathered insights on the online buying market and user experiences, I delved into competitors' research and app analysis to optimize the most crucial information for purchasing decisions. Additionally, I explored the best way to make an interactive AI avatar to enhance user engagement.
Main Competitors Used: Poshmark & DEPOP
SOLUTION
Our suggested solution was to create an AI character that modifies itself with input measurements, allowing users to feel confident with how an item will look and feel in real life. Sellers can input their garment's measurements and specify the proportions, with high contrasting colors used to highlight all the functions.
The final result is an AI-powered virtual fitting room that offers an engaging, sustainable, and personalized solution for buying and selling second-hand clothing. The platform provides a unique user experience
