Northbound Field Journal - Framer Travel Template

Northbound is a Framer template for outdoor publications, travel journals and independent guides. I designed and built it around expansive photography, editorial typography and a custom Route Planner.

The photography sets the mood; the layout gives each story room to breathe. Alternating image and text sections, restrained color and a consistent type hierarchy carry the reading experience from the opening landscape through the field notes.

The custom Route Planner adds an interactive layer to the journal. Visitors choose their terrain, season, time outdoors and experience level to generate a field brief with a suggested turnaround margin, a primary risk and an equipment list. The summary can be copied for later reference.

The template includes desktop, tablet and mobile layouts, reusable components and a dedicated 404 page. Colors, imagery and content can be adapted for a different publication or outdoor brand.
