Client: Holy Trinity Church, Rathmines Project Type: Illustrated Poster Design Season: Christmas Overview Commissioned by Holy Trinity Church in Rathmines, this festive illustration was created to celebrate the spirit of Christmas within the local community. The concept, “Let There Be Light,” aimed to visually unite the church’s message of hope and togetherness with the familiar landmarks that define Rathmines.

Approach The illustration was entirely hand-drawn, capturing well-known local sites such as the church itself, the dome of the Rathmines Town Hall, and the beloved independent businesses that bring life to the area. Each element was designed to feel warm, welcoming, and familiar — a visual invitation for the community to gather and celebrate. The style combines minimal geometric forms with a festive palette and playful character scenes, creating a joyful winter atmosphere. Every character and building contributes to the story of connection, belonging, and light — reflecting the church’s role as a central meeting point in the community.

Outcome The artwork became the centrepiece of Holy Trinity’s Christmas campaign, used across event promotions and printed materials. It not only captured the festive spirit but also resonated deeply with locals who recognized their own streets, buildings, and sense of community reflected in the design.
